About Velvet Theory
Velvet Theory is an independent creative agency based in Calgary, Alberta, working with brands across Canada. Their work starts with uncovering what makes a brand meaningful, then shaping the story around it and building creative that carries it into the world. In their own words: design with purpose, write with intention.
Led by co-founders Andrea and Kirstie, the Velvet Theory team brings research, strategy, writing, design, production and media together, supported by a network of photographers, videographers, animators and other specialists. Their clients range from national consumer brands like TacoTime Canada and Jugo Juice to B2B organizations like Taiga Building Products.
Working with Vigilante Marketing
Velvet Theory leads the brand and creative, and Vigilante Marketing turns it into fast, flexible WordPress websites. Together we have launched sites for Brodwell and TORQ Logistics, and in 2026 we built Velvet Theory’s own new website from their Figma designs, with case study templates their team can update on their own.
