WordPress/Web Developer

We are looking for the next Vigilante to join our time! Are you fluent in HTML/CSS? Do you love WordPress? If so, this position might be a great fit for you.
As our new WordPress/Web Developer, you will be a problem solver and have a portfolio that will reflect your top-notch technical skills, along with several live examples of websites you’ve helped develop using WordPress. Adhering to timelines, you will work independently without the need for micromanagement. A typical day could include activities such as migrating websites, solving email issues, setting up hosting accounts, helping our design & development team customize layouts, or resolving WordPress performance issues.

Required Skills:

  • Experience customizing and coding WordPress templates
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience designing WordPress websites from concept to launch and everything in between
  • Vast knowledge of website migrations, hosting, WHMCS and email account setup
  • Advanced knowledge of custom DNS settings, including configuration with Office365 and G Suite
  • High-level comprehension of WooCommerce, JavaScript, PHP & MySQL
  • A thorough understanding of resolving cross-browser & mobile compatibility issues

Nice to have:

  • Sharp eye for design, typography and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of on-page SEO structure, search ranking factors
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Suites (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and some graphic design experience

Duties would include:

  • Communicating directly with clients, by phone and email, to help define tasks and solve various technical issues
  • Assisting our designers & developers with WordPress builds, configuring plugins & themes
  • Completing regularly scheduled maintenance (updating core, theme & plugins) on WordPress websites
  • Multitasking on projects of various sizes and levels of complexity

Compensation: $25.00 – 35/hr, commensurate with experience and portfolio

Graphic Designer

We’re looking for our next Vigilante Graphic Designer who will work closely with our web and marketing team to create and develop graphic designs for our clients, and also be encouraged to take the initiative to lead the creative aspects of the design initiatives.

Experience with a range of creative design tools is required, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and XD, depending on the specific initiatives. Some experience with integrating video into social graphics is also an asset. Most of our initiatives are based on a budget objective, so we must be willing to work closely within project budgets.

Required Skills:

  • Sharp eye for design, typography and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva, and strong technical skills that allow you to adapt to new applications and tools easily.
  • Experience with updating branding and layout designs in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
  • Experience in professionally retouching images.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to edit copy during the course of your design production if needed.
  • Excellent independent working skills and a demonstrated desire and ability to contribute to a team collaboration culture.
  • Sharp eye for design, typography and attention to detail in your design work and completion.

Nice to have:

  • Some experience with basic video editing would be an asset.
  • A solid understanding of web usability, typography, and responsive web design
  • Understanding of creating images optimized for the web

Duties would include:

  • Ideating, creating and generating graphic designs for our clients’ in formats for web, social platforms, or print.
  • Taking direction from the project manager to create design deliverables for clients.
  • Delivering design assets on time based on requirements and your commitments.
  • Supporting our team and our clients with new design templates or guidelines to enable our team to continue to scale up.
  • Contribute to creative copy required as part of some projects and when the copy is not readily provided.

Compensation: $22.50 – 35/hr, commensurate with experience and portfolio

Digital Marketing Specialist

We’re on the lookout for our Vigilante! Do you have an interest in SEO and social media management? Do you have experience in online advertising, including Google Ads? If so, this might be a great fit for you.

As our new Digital Marketing Specialist, you will primarily focus on Internet marketing. Your main responsibilities will include working with a setlist of client accounts, engaging in social media activity, continuously analyzing keyword ranking progress, advertising activity, and developing strategies as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Degree/Diploma in Marketing, Business or Communications, or equivalent experience in a similar marketing role
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of leading client-facing meetings
  • Thorough understanding of brand paid media (content marketing, digital display, paid social) and search engine optimization/search engine marketing (SEO/SEM)
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Search Console and related applications
  • Solid proofreading and copywriting skills
  • Social media profile creation and account management experience

Nice to Haves:

  • A strong understanding of PPC campaign management/conversion tracking
  • Google Ads Certification would be considered a major asset
  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • Working knowledge of Canva or Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Experience with online display advertising, remarketing
  • Ability to set up e-mail campaigns through MailChimp
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and terminology

Duties would include:

  • Publish provided website content including landing pages and blogs
  • Develop and implement backlinking strategies for client SEO campaigns
  • Perform keyword research as required, to determine appropriate keyword targets
  • On-page optimization for keyword targets
  • Create PPC/Google Ads campaigns, manage budgets, analytics translation
  • Social media activity and engagement
  • Prepare monthly keyword ranking & activity reports

Compensation range: $22.50 – $35.00/hour
