You can view someone elseβs calendar if theyβve shared it with you. You can also request access if they havenβt shared their calendar with you yet.
Important: You can only search for a calendar youβd like to subscribe to when you use Google Calendar on a computer or mobile browser.
Use an email address to subscribe to a calendar
Step 1: Ask to view a calendar
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left, next to βOther calendars,β click Add
Subscribe to calendar. If the calendar has been shared with you, youβll get an email.
- In the βAdd calendarβ box, enter the personβs email address, or select one from the list.
- Press Enter.
- Depending on whether their calendar is shared, one of the following happens:
- If the calendar isnβt shared with you, weβll prompt you to request access.
- If the calendar is already shared with you, their calendar will be added on the left side under βOther calendars.β
- If the other person doesnβt have a Google Calendar, weβll prompt you to invite them to use Google Calendar.
Step 2: (Optional) Get approval from the other person
If a calendar youβve requested isnβt shared with you, the calendarβs owner gets an email requesting access.
To accept your request, the other person should:
- On a computer, open the email you sent requesting access.
- Click the link in the email.
- In the Settings page that opens, make sure the person is selected, and choose a permission setting.
- Click Send.
Tip: After the other person accepts your request, you get an email with a link to βAdd this calendar.β Once you add the calendar, it appears on the left under βOther calendars.β If the calendar doesnβt appear, refresh the page.
Use a link to add a public calendar
Important: You can only add a calendar using a link if the other personβs calendar is public. Learn more about public calendars.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left, next to βOther calendars,β click Add
From URL.
- Enter the calendarβs address.
- Click Add calendar. The calendar appears on the left, under βOther calendars.β
Tip: It might take up to 12 hours for changes to show in your Google Calendar.
Hide someone elseβs calendar
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left, under βOther calendars,β uncheck the calendar you want to hide.
Tip: If you donβt want to permanently remove a calendar from your list, you can also unsubscribe from it. To restore access to the calendar, subscribe to the calendar again.
