Summerhill Pyramid Winery stands out not only for its award-winning wines but also for its commitment to sustainability and its iconic pyramid-shaped wine cellar, which is said to enhance the aging process of its wines. The winery also offers a farm-to-table dining experience, along with a variety of events and tours that attract visitors from around the world.

The Challenge

what they needed

Summerhill Pyramid Winery’s website was overdue for a major update. The previous site had become outdated and did not reflect the winery’s modern, sophisticated brand, nor its commitment to the environment and the highest quality red, white, rose, sparkling, and ice wines.

They needed a refreshed look that would showcase their wines, captivate new users immediately, and assist visitors to easily locate the services and products they provide.

The previous site also had very little back-end usability and no automated way for updating inventory and memberships.

how we tackled it

Designer and developer, Tina Raposo, started with a striking video banner on the homepage that instantly grabs attention and sets the tone for the visitor’s journey. Utilizing parallax effects, we created a floating grapes and vines animation, adding three-dimensional depth to the page, complemented by a multi-layered photo of the pyramid. Inspired by the pyramid shape from Summerhill’s logo, Tina designed unique buttons that add a distinctive touch to the site. We showcased their wines using large, high-quality images, bringing the winery’s offerings to life.

We carefully planned the layout to ensure seamless navigation. The Wine, Dine, and Gather buttons are prominently placed, allowing users to quickly find what they’re looking for. Each section of the site—whether it’s about wines, bistro, or events—guides the user effortlessly, providing a clear and enjoyable browsing experience. Updating the on-site menu to be interactive and easily editable, ensures that visitors can quickly access the latest offerings.

With Developer, Peter Vigilante’s expertise, we seamlessly integrated the Qualo system, linking products sold through the site to their warehouse inventory and connecting with their Wine Club membership packages.

The new Summerhill Pyramid Winery website is a blend of modern aesthetics and practical functionality, providing an engaging user experience that aligns perfectly with the winery’s prestigious brand. Visitors can easily explore the winery’s offerings, from their exquisite wines to the gourmet restaurant and exciting events, all within a beautifully designed digital space.
