FAQ

If I don’t update my site, will it shut down?

Not exactly. While your site may keep working even if the software is left untouched, it becomes more susceptible to hackers and malicious attacks because it doesn’t take advantage of new security updates. When plugins are abandoned by developers, they can also be targeted by hackers. Updating the software and plugins makes the website more stable, more secure, and functions better.

Why is website maintenance important?

WordPress releases new updated versions on a regular basis. It’s very important to keep up with these upgrades for security reasons – sites running older versions of WordPress can be much more vulnerable to hacking. And plugins on your site also require occasional updating for exactly the same reason.

This maintenance service can help you keep your WordPress site or blog running quickly and securely; security features will be installed to make your site far less prone to hacking

Are there any read/write IOP filesystem limitations?

We don’t impose any IOP filesystem limits as it’s not shared. Generally you’re good to use as much as you can get. It’s simply based on what the underlying disk can handle.

Can I host a Multisite or a WooCommerce shop on the Bronze plan?

Yes, you can! Unlike other hosts, we don’t limit what plan you can host Multisite or WooCommerce on. Of course, if you choose to use a very resource-heavy theme or package of plugins and/or have a great deal of traffic, then you will need to choose a more powerful plan – although in our experience, the Silver level is generally enough for most users.

If you have a query, our expert support team is always standing by and ready to assist with ascertaining which level is right for you (and also to recommend more resource-friendly solutions that can save you money on hosting!)

Do I still need Sucuri, Cloudflare, ManageWP, etc. ?

Congratulations, you just saved yourself a lot of money! Our security and site management tools are best in class, included in every plan is a complete WAF, Defender will take care of any security problems you have and you can manage as many websites on as many other hosts as you like you choose using The Hub.

Digital AG uses the WPMU DEV platform which has literally been developed to take care of all of your core WordPress needs.

Do you offer email accounts included with hosting?

Yes! We include at no extra cost a range of email solutions ranging from unlimited email forwarding (so you can forward [email protected] to whatever Gmail account you like and then ‘send as’ from that account) and also email at your actual domain that you can log in to and send from using Outlook, Apple Mail or whatever client you would like to use.

Do you offer SSL certificates?

Every site gets a free SSL cert from Let’s Encrypt. We also offer free Wildcard SSL for Multisite subdomains, which is automatically set up and configured for you.

How easily can I migrate my website?

Over 90% of all websites can be migrated using our automated tool. You just enter your SFTP credentials and we’ll take care of the rest. If for some reason the migration doesn’t work (like if you have a really large or complex site, or your current host makes migrations difficult), our superhero support team will manually handle the migration for you, for free!

Isn’t this too cheap? Isn’t this too expensive?

It’s funny that we have to answer both these questions all the time! Compared to shared hosting (stuffing hundreds of websites onto one server) we are somewhat expensive BUT compared to other managed and dedicated hosts we are incredibly affordable!

This is because we are leveraging cutting edge technology (Digital Ocean ‘Droplets’ – Digital Ocean are our hosting partner) and charging an absolute minimal markup on those for our additional services (they can be purchased individually from Digital Ocean for $5).

You also get access to all our GLP premium plugins and themes for free with your hosting membership.

How many websites can I have on each hosting plan?

We allow one website per hosting plan. Each plan is an isolated and compartmentalized instance using dedicated resources to ensure your site is blazing fast. Our backup, staging and other hosting tools are specifically designed to host and support one dedicated WordPress installation per plan.

Do you offer support or installation services for the plugins/themes?

We have NO support and installation services for plugins/themes. If you require technical support, we advise that you purchase the related product directly from the developer, or you should hire a freelancer to take a look for you. Alternatively, you could ask to WordPress community forums.

Not offering support is the way in which we are able to offer the items at a discounted price.

Why are some plugins/themes asking for a licence key?

Please ignore these warnings. Developers request you to register for their product in order to receive automatic updates for the plugins or themes. However, these warnings do not prevent the plugins and themes from running.

Do you provide licence keys?

We do not sell, lease, or approve the license keys. All the products presented on this site are licensed under the GNU GPL License. If you need automatic updates or support for any item, you must purchase them from the original developer, the link for whom can be found on each theme or plugins page.

Can I request a new version of an outdated theme or plugin?

Yes, you can submit your request directly on the theme or plugins page and we are pleased to update the item as soon as possible. We will also send a notification to all those who have downloaded the item. Please note that we do not issue a guarantee that the last version of each product will be added.

Will purchased items be updated automatically?

If you need to update a theme or plugin, you must download it from our website and perform the update manually. If you want to receive automatic updates you must purchase the theme or plugin directly from the developer. The developer links can be found on each items page.

How often are themes or plugins updated?

We usually add new products every day and publish new versions of existing products as we find them. Please note we do not update products immediately and do not issue a guarantee that the last version of each item will be added. You can request the latest version of any theme or plugin from the items page and we will get the latest version and notify all subscribers of that item of the update within 24 hours.

How long can I use the plugin or theme?

There is no limit on themes and plug-ins that you can installed at any time. We will also notify you of any updates uploaded to our site for the length of your subscription to any product.

Are the themes and plugins original?

The files that are available on this site are 100% original files. None of the files have been modified and do not contain malware. We even use them on our sites!

All themes and plugins can be directly downloaded from the website of the producing company using the provided link on the product page. We download from these same websites without any modification. You can use all the files on your website, with peace of mind.

We do not sell any products downloaded from third-party resources.

How many sites can I use the plugin or theme on?

As many as you like. The plugins and themes are GPL licensed so you can use them as often as you like on as many sites as you like.

Why are the prices so low?

Free Software Foundation permits everyone to copy and distribute verbatim copies for Inc. GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE. Subscriptions support us and due to this crowdfunding, prices of the products are low. We do not provide license keys and automatic updates for the products you downloaded.
We are not developers of the provided products, so our technical support capabilities are limited. We do not change the functionality of products and do not fix developer bugs.
